Capturing the excitement found in the series, the colorful animated float features unique elements from their magical world including the palace, marketplace, rainbow waterfall with mist, dazzling gems and jewels, and inflatable clouds. The float transports Parade spectators to the whimsical world of Zahramay Falls with twin genies-in-training Shimmer and Shine, as they take a ride on their magic carpet through the streets of New York. Designed and crafted by the magic-making artists at the Macy's Parade Studio, the Shimmer and Shine float was based on the hit Nickelodeon pre-school show of the same name. ![]() Shimmer and Shine was first represented in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2017, taking the form of an elaborate fantasy float. In each episode, Leah works with the two genies to resolve the problems they unintentionally cause, all while keeping Shimmer and Shine a secret from her next door neighbor and best friend Zac. The show was based on an unreleased pilot in September 2013, and depicts the fantasy-filled lives of twin genies-in-training Shimmer and Shine, who often try and grant wishes for their friend Leah. ![]() It airs on Nickelodeon in the United States and on Treehouse in Canada.
